U.S. stocks

U.S. stocks had a pretty good week. That was a little surprising with interest rates still staying high. Hopefully the market can keep moving higher next week too.

I made a major change to my investment approach this week. I am dropping the separate long-term investment bucket and concentrating more on my main holdings. I plan to sell AppLovin (APP), McDonald's (MCD), Nike (NKE), PepsiCo (PEP), and RTX Corporation (RTX) once those positions get back into positive territory.

Nike (NKE), though, may have a hard time getting all the way back to breakeven. I would like to exit after a decent recovery or combine the sale with profits taken elsewhere.

Meta Platforms (META) came down enough this week for me to buy it back. I would have preferred to wait for a slightly lower price, but I plan to add more if it falls further.

Japanese stocks

I also made a major change to my Japanese stock strategy this week. I dropped the fractional-share positions I had been treating as a long-term bucket and moved entirely to swing trading for individual stocks. The portfolio feels much cleaner now. This is more like it.

This week I bought ITOCHU Corporation (8001). I would be happy to see it climb to around JPY 2,300.

Next week I will be watching KDDI (9433), Seven & i Holdings (3382), and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (8306). If a good opportunity comes up, I would like to enter.
